Guillaume Chansarel, Art Book, “Drawing Avenue”

$600.00

Drawing Avenue traces Guillaume Chansarel’s artistic pilgrimage along Manhattan’s Broadway. His aesthetic tome includes an introduction by writer Frédéric Beigbeder and 247 original drawings by Chansarel, one for each of Broadway’s corners—from up under the Broadway Bridge all the way down to the Staten Island Ferry. Having studied architecture and scenography, Chansarel uses the urban framework as a central element in his artistic practice. He is interested in architecture, but also in its graphical representation, the constructions of perspective, and how perspective can deepen an architectural subject. The artist completed this illustrated catalog in just seven days and describes it as “a true declaration of love to New York.” City residents and visitors alike will delight in the familiar and fresh vignettes of our beloved Gotham.
