Paris Jours Heureux (Paris Happy Days) by Fabienne Delacroix. Text by Olivia Karam.

Fabienne Delacroix’s quaint figures bustling throughout Paris seem to exist in simpler times, more specifically the Belle Époque at the turn of the 20th century. The bright colors, intricate details and poetic naïveté of these charming images all contribute to their timelessness. Delacroix’s postcard-sized paintings are complemented by Olivia Karam’s anecdotes about the history of Paris scattered throughout the book, allowing readers to fully immerse themselves in French historicism. The work is divided into seven parts: Private and secret Paris, Under the snow, Effervescence, Celebration in Paris, Strolling, Eternal Paris, and All aboard!
